Nikolina Vujinović Attended the 4th Actors’ Summit in London
Our Nikolina Vujinović had the wonderful opportunity to take part in the fourth edition of the Actors’ Summit in London this year. The main goal of this traditional event is to bring together CMOs (Performers’ Collective Management Organizations) that represent actors to converse about the rights and difficulties faced actors.
The fact that our Managing Partner has been bolstering these events for years, advocating for the rights of local actors in Serbia and their umbrella organizations, and then taking part in cooperative conditions to enhance both local and international performers’ rights, is something we are proud of. The Actor’s Summit is becoming more and more important every year as it greatly helps local organizations to improve their understanding of important issues for the sector – by sharing practical experiences from across Europe. In addition, this gathering generated joint initiatives and advocacy policies, especially through the umbrella organizations that organize the Summit.
The discussion was focused on practical topics of today, including the context of artificial intelligence, with members of the organization, as well as external participants, offering their opinions on local circumstances. Thus, one of the presentations focused on protecting actors from the rapid rise of generative AI. After the hands-on experience of addressing professional views and legal issues regarding actors’ rights, it was delightful and captivating to attend a renowned London theater in the evening and see outstanding productions of some of the greatest plays currently playing at the West End.
Event was organized in cooperation between AEPO-ARTIS (collective management umbrella organization for performers operating in 29 European countries) and SCAPR (international association for the development of the practical cooperation between CMOs), with the hosting of BECS (UK’s collective management organization for audio visual performers).
We really appreciate the invitation from all of the organizers once more, and we look forward to attending this significant event the following year.
